Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Payroll Specialist for our Federal Systems team in Rockville, MD. The role focuses on prevailing wage, SCA/DBA rules, and certified payroll reporting for ~850 employees, from time collection to payment and reconciliation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in payroll processing and full payroll cycle management.
• Thorough knowledge of prevailing wage rules and regulations under DOL.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Customer service oriented and able to work in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Review and monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
• Process weekly/biweekly payroll for ~850 employees with accurate time collection and reconciliation.
• Prepare and validate Davis Bacon Act/ Service Contract Act calculations and reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure certified payroll reporting and documentation.
• Support payroll manager and implement process improvements.
