Job summary

Dell Inc. in the United States is seeking a Network Automation Engineer for a Federal Customer role. This on-site position in Chantilly, VA requires active TS/SCI clearance and a passion for automating critical network infrastructure.

You will design, deploy, and operate automated WAN networks, collaborating with engineers to optimize performance and scalability across data-center and edge environments using Python/Go, Ansible, REST APIs, Open vSwitch, SONiC, and Kubernetes networking concepts.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting large-scale enterprise WAN architectures using core routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), MPLS, and overlay networks across geographically distributed sites.
• Hands-on experience configuring and managing enterprise-grade Software-Defined WAN platforms with centralized policy enforcement and zero-touch provisioning.
• Proficiency in developing production automation scripts and configuration frameworks using Python and Ansible, with practical experience consuming network REST APIs, NETCONF/RESTCONF, and data formats JSON, YAML, XML.
• Strong background implementing secure transport connectivity across WAN boundaries (IPsec site-to-site, MACsec) and QoS for latency-sensitive traffic.
• Candidates must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

• Communicate effectively with team members, vendors, and customers
• Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
