Job summary

Dell Inc. is seeking a Network Automation Engineer for Federal Customer in Chantilly, VA. The role requires on-site work five days a week and TS/SCI clearance.

You will design, deploy, and maintain automated network infrastructure to support IT workloads and ensure performance, stability, and scalability across enterprise networks. The position involves collaborating with software and platform engineers, implementing changes through automation, and leveraging Python/Go for network automation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience deploying large-scale enterprise WANs with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and MPLS.
• Hands-on with SD-WAN platforms (Catalyst SD-WAN, Velocloud, Fortinet) including ZTP and dynamic path selection.
• Proficiency in Python/Ansible for automation and REST APIs, NETCONF/RESTCONF, JSON/YAML.
• Secure WAN connectivity: IPsec, MACsec, Next-Gen Firewall policies, QoS.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement changes through automation
• Deliver simple, sustainable, repeatable solutions and processes
• Operate and trouble-shoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configuration issues; including Linux systems and next-gen tooling
• Maintain standards across networking toolset and ensure policy compliance
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border
• Collaborate with Network Architect for rapid rollout of new designs and deployment+sustaining of network infrastructure
• Proficient in Python or Go
• Experience with networking protocols and APIs, Open vSwitch and RESTful APIs
• Proficient in VLAN/LAN/WAN topology
• Experience with Ansible for automation
• Experience with SONiC and Cumulus NOS
• Experience in rail-optimized technology
• Experience with Kubernetes networking concepts
• Experience using Kubernetes CNI to interact with network plugins
• Familiarity with MetalLB Operator for load balancing on bare metal clusters
• Ability to communicate effectively with team, vendors, and customers to understand requirements and implement solutions
• Proficient time management to meet deadlines in a fast-paced networking environment
