Job summary

Dell GmbH in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer to support federal IT networks. This onsite role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise networking and communications infrastructure to meet performance and security requirements.

The candidate will work with a team of network and software engineers, leveraging automation with Python/Go, Ansible, and Kubernetes concepts, and must hold TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting large-scale WAN architectures.
• Hands-on with SD-WAN platforms and automation scripting using Python and Ansible.
• Experience with REST APIs, NETCONF/RESTCONF, and data formats (JSON, YAML, XML).
• Knowledge of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and secure transport across WAN.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement changes through automation
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configuration issues; including Linux systems and next-gen networking tools
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure compliance with policies
• Drive and support innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border
• Collaborate with the Network Architect to deploy designs and sustain infrastructure
• Proficient in Python or Go programming
• Work with Open vSwitch, RESTful APIs, and Kubernetes networking concepts
• Configure and maintain MetalLB for load balancing on bare metal clusters
• Communicate requirements effectively with team members, vendors, and customers
