Job summary

The Gilchrist Law Firm, P.A. is seeking a Senior Paralegal / Legal Assistant II to support litigation for the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) in the Southern District of Florida, Miami.

You will assist with case preparation, discovery management, trial preparation, and document analysis for criminal and civil matters. This on-site role in Miami requires organizational excellence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex materials in a fast-paced legal environment while

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain MRPT credentials.
• Paralegal certificate, J.D., or enrollment in ABA-accredited law school (with at least one year completed) or equivalent training.
• Minimum three years of experience supporting litigation or legal projects or equivalent education.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced legal environment with strict deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Windows and legal databases.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for motions, briefs, discovery, and legal filings.
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibits and case materials organization.
• Provide in-court support, manage exhibits, and assist during proceedings.
• Review and analyze case materials such as emails, financial records, and investigations.
• Review audio/video evidence and foreign language recordings when applicable.
• Maintain electronic and physical case files and track discovery documentation.
• Use litigation support tools and file documents via ECF and PACER.
• Coordinate with federal agencies and other partners to obtain materials.
• Prepare witness materials and evidence binders.
