Heise Suarez Melville, P.A. is a boutique litigation firm seeking an experienced paralegal with at least 5 years of experience.

Role Description

The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in all phases of complex litigation, including case intake, discovery, pre-trial, trial, and post-trial activities. This full-time, on-site role in Miami, FL involves drafting, organizing, and managing legal documents; maintaining case files and calendars; and coordinating with attorneys, clients, and third parties. Daily responsibilities include review pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery materials, and subpoenas. Prepare exhibits and trial notebooks, and help manage document productions and e‑discovery. The Litigation Paralegal will also help file pleadings and motions in state and federal courts, track deadlines, and support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials. The position requires strong attention to detail, proactive communication, and the ability to handle multiple high‑priority tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, formatting, and organizing litigation documents and correspondence.
• Experience with Document Review, including analyzing, summarizing, and organizing discovery materials and records.
• Hands‑on experience preparing and filing Pleadings and Motions in state and federal courts, including electronic filing procedures.
• Prior experience as a litigation paralegal, ideally in complex commercial, class action, or high‑stakes litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail and organization.
• Proficiency with legal case management software, e‑discovery platforms, and standard office productivity tools.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work collaboratively with a small, high‑performing team, and maintain discretion with sensitive information.
• Availability to work extended hours as needed based on case demands, including trial or deadline periods.
• Paralegal certificate and/or associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
