Job summary

Bowman and Brooke LLP, a national product liability boutique with over 200 lawyers, is seeking a litigation paralegal for our Miami, FL (Coral Gables) office. This role supports attorneys in high-exposure lawsuits, handling documents, discovery, and trial preparations.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate and at least 4 years of defense litigation experience, with strong organizational skills and proficiency with iManage and billing guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
• 4+ years’ litigation defense experience required.
• Must be familiar with and follow client billing guidelines, enter and record accurate billing entries.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings).
• Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing; regularly update team on case status and alert attorneys to important client needs.
• Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions and subpoenas.
• Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms.
• Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to keep information organized and easy to locate.
• Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing subpoenas, managing exhibits, attending trial).
• Gather and analyze complex medical records needed to prepare medical chronologies.
