Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking a Project Manager to direct construction projects ranging from $15–$49 million, including NAVFAC, USACE, and DoD engagements. You will oversee all phases from planning to close-out, ensuring safety, compliance, on-time delivery, and profitability.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with estimators and stakeholders to meet client expectations and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years progressive project experience in heavy civil environments.
• Minimum five years experience in paving, dirt, and grading in either private or public environments.
• Experience managing and delivering construction projects for NAVFAC, USACE, DoD, or other federal agencies.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, forecasting, contract administration, project controls, quality requirements, subcontractors, and project close-out activities.
• Experience administering federal construction contracts and managing subcontractors in accordance with federal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of federal construction projects, including planning, execution, contract administration, quality control oversight, project controls, and close-out.
• Serve as Granite’s primary project-level contact with federal clients and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/DFARS, EM 385‑1‑1, Davis‑Bacon Act, and government quality control processes.
• Provide environment where dynamic project communication occurs among project team to ensure efficient, profitable, and safe work.
• Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed margins.
