Job summary

Appalachian Regional Commission seeks a Grants Management Specialist to coordinate the full lifecycle of federal ARC grants, including reviews, amendments, and closeouts. The role supports pre- and post-award activities and delivers training to applicants and grantees.

You will work with the BWI team under the Division Director, ensuring compliance with 2 CFR Part 200 and ARDA guidelines. Washington, DC locale with in-person office days required.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding and experience with federal grants management processes and technical assistance.
  • Excellent understanding of 2.CFR Part 200 and uniform guidance across the grant lifecycle.
  • Experience navigating grants management systems and reporting for applicants and grantees.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, rules, and methods governing federal grants and awards.
  • Attention to detail and ability to use grants software, Excel, and Word.
  • One year of solid grants management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Core competencies: accountability, adaptability, collaboration, communication, and critical analysis.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of ARC grants (pre- and post-award).
  • Review applications, monitor progress, issue amendments, and close grants.
  • Provide training for applicants and grantees.
