Job summary

CDM Smith seeks an experienced engineer to serve as the technical liaison between federal design and construction branches and contractors in a 100% travel role. You will review submittals, specs, and reports for compliance with federal standards and provide engineering judgment for field modifications and value engineering.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to pass a federal background check.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• U.S. citizen and able to pass a federal background check.
• PE or RA highly preferred.
• Experience with federal contracting standards (FAR/DFARS) and DoD projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical liaison between federal design/construction branches and contractors.
• Review design submittals, drawings, specs, RFIs for compliance with federal standards.
• Provide engineering judgment for field modifications and value engineering proposals.
• Assist in cost estimating and supporting analysis with government estimators.
• Develop and mentor junior staff while guiding technical direction and client relations.
