Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a qualified senior engineer to serve as the technical liaison between the federal design branch, construction branch, and contractors, ensuring compliance with standards and timely deliverables. You will review submittals, prepare reports, support cost estimating, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with government teams. Domestic travel is 100% required.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizen required.
  • Able to pass a federal background check.
  • Knowledge of design review, construction administration, cost estimating, scheduling, and contract management.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical liaison between federal government client design branch, construction branch, and contractors.
  • Review design submittals, shop drawings, specifications, RFIs, and technical reports for compliance with Federal and client standards.
  • Apply engineering principles across planning, investigation, design review, construction administration, and assessment of procedures, structures, systems, and tools.
  • Monitors progress and prepares technical reports and project status updates.
  • Provide engineering judgment for field modifications, non-conformance issues, and constructability reviews.
  • Complies with guidelines and regulations including permitting, safety, environmental requirements, etc.
