Job summary

Workday Government seeks a seasoned data privacy and cybersecurity attorney to guide federal contracting initiatives. You will translate complex security requirements into practical legal guidance for product and engineering teams.

Lead FedRAMP and DoD IL assessments, manage incident response, and draft or review FAR/DFARS contracts. Requires a J.D., 8+ years in privacy/cybersecurity law, and the ability to communicate with technical and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

J.D. degree and admission to at least one state bar.
8+ years as attorney focused on data privacy and cybersecurity law.
FedRAMP authorization experience (Low/Moderate/High).
DoD IL2–IL6 experience with SRG.
Experience with FAR/DFARS and government contracting data security.
Knowledge of CMMC, NIST 800-53/800-171, FISMA.
Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Serve as lead counsel on data privacy and cybersecurity matters.
Own the legal strategy for FedRAMP authorization.
Advise on DoD SRG IL2–IL6 requirements.
Draft and negotiate FAR/DFARS contracts and data processing agreements with government clients.
Monitor and translate evolving privacy/security laws into guidance.
Lead data breach response and regulatory notification efforts.
Advise executives on data governance and risk for new products.
