Job summary

Cybersecurity Jobs is seeking a security engineer to support DoS environments across on-prem, virtual, and cloud platforms. You will design and implement secure IT solutions following defense-in-depth and zero-trust principles, ensuring compliance with DOS and federal security requirements.

The role emphasizes threat modeling, RMF/NIST compliance, and DevSecOps automation with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, and SonarQube, in a federal-friendly Ashburn-based setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of cybersecurity engineering or related experience.
• Active Top Secret Clearance.
• Experience with security engineering, architecture design, security controls implementation, and secure system design principles.
• Knowledge of information security frameworks including NIST 800-53, FISMA, RMF, and Federal security requirements.
• Understanding of network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, DDoS mitigation, and cloud security architectures (AWS, Azure).
• Proficiency with DevSecOps tooling: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube, and CI/CD pipeline security integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement security solutions for data centers, virtual hosting, and cloud platforms using defense-in-depth and zero-trust.
• Ensure environments meet DOS security requirements and FISMA/NIST controls.
• Apply security best practices across the SDLC with DOS policies and STIGs.
• Build network security capabilities including high-availability load balancing and DDoS mitigation.
• Implement and configure FedRAMP-compliant cloud systems with data sovereignty considerations.
• Provide security expertise for infrastructure architecture, including threat modeling and risk assessments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting integrated with Enterprise Monitoring and SIEM.
• Use DevSecOps tools to build CI/CD pipelines and automate security validation and vulnerability scanning with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab, SonarQube.
• Perform security assessments, vulnerability testing, and remediation reporting.
• Coordinate with infrastructure engineers, developers, security analysts, and Government stakeholders.
