Job summary

VIATEQ is seeking a Security Engineer to design and sustain enterprise security controls across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments for a federal client in Washington, DC. The role emphasizes Zero Trust, vulnerability management, and IAM, with remote telework options available.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on security engineering experience, active clearance eligibility, and deep knowledge of NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in security engineering or federal IT security.
• Experience implementing security controls across endpoint, network, cloud.
• Experience with NIST SP 800-53, Zero Trust, FedRAMP, and ATO activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architectures.
• Lead vulnerability management program and remediation tracking.
• Support SIEM tuning, detection engineering, and incident response.
• Collaborate with Gov and cross-functional teams to enforce security controls.
