Job summary

Constellis is seeking a Court Security Officer (CSO) to provide protective services at federal courthouses under a US Marshals Service contract. The role involves fixed-post, mobile, or foot patrols with supervision from Lead CSO and District Supervisor, within a union setup.

The CSO will enforce entry systems, patrol facilities, and provide surveillance, including potential armed escort duties and courtroom security as needed. Candidates must meet stringent federal agency prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 3 years of verifiable civilian law enforcement experience OR equivalent military service.
• Certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy.
• Must pass pre-placement screening including background check, credit/FOIA disclosure.
• Must pass criminal background screen, drug test and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Enforce the District's entry and identification system.
• Test and report emergency equipment.
• Patrol court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Man USMS authorized stationary posts.
• Provide focused surveillance on incoming traffic to detect threats before screening area.
• May provide armed escort services for judges and court personnel.
• Provide security for off-site judicial functions where access can be controlled.
• Direct traffic and monitor lights and pedestrians as per post orders.
• Occasionally provide courtroom security during hearings.
• Maintain security presence in the courtroom and enforce federal law and court orders.
• Log property pass numbers and report incidents within 24 hours.
