Job summary

The Tepa Companies in Cedar Rapids, IA are seeking a Construction Superintendent to lead a large federal project, focusing on safety, quality, and performance during preconstruction, construction, and close-out.

You will supervise field teams, implement QC and safety programs, coordinate inspections, and ensure documentation is complete for USACE project requirements. Travel may be required to support sites and other locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of relevant construction experience.
• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 years.
• Attendance at a QC management course (e.g. USACE/NEC) with current certification.
• Current First aid/CPR certification.
• Intermediate proficiency in ProCore, BlueBeam, MS Word and Excel.
• Intermediate communication skills and problem solving.
• Fluent in English; able to pass drug test and background check.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project execution, safety, and quality across preconstruction, construction, and close-out activities.
• Supervise field teams on a large federal USACE project and ensure documentation.
• Implement and monitor safety and quality control programs and conduct regular inspections.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings, testing, and submission of close-out documents.
• Maintain logs, correspondence, and project files; manage demobilization when needed.
