Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking a Site Quality Manager to lead construction quality on a designated project site. You will implement the Construction Quality Control Plan, audit compliance, and drive defect prevention with subcontractors and suppliers.

The role requires ten years of related experience and CQM-C certification, with the ability to obtain missing credentials. You will manage documentation, coordinate inspections, and ensure audit-ready quality records on a federal program.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction quality experience.
  • Current Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certification, or ability to obtain it within the timeframe required by the contract.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel and the ability to produce clear, timely, and accurate quality documentation.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and compliance with the company Motor Vehicle Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, and continuously maintain the approved project-specific Construction Quality Control Plan and related procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for site quality issues and communicate directly with client quality representatives and other stakeholders.
  • Establish clear quality roles, responsibilities, lines of authority, inspection points, documentation requirements, and escalation paths.
  • Plan, lead, and document the three-phase control process - preparatory, initial, and follow-up - for each definable feature of work.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, approved submittals, RFIs, design changes, and applicable codes for compliance.
  • Coordinate inspections, tests, mockups, sampling, and commissioning activities with field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Verify materials and equipment meet submittals and contract requirements and are properly stored and used.
  • Observe construction activities and verify workmanship, methods, tolerances, testing, and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify nonconforming work, issue deficiency documentation, and drive corrective-action closure.
  • Exercise stop-work or rejection authority for non-compliant work.
  • Ensure subcontractors understand and comply with the Quality Control Plan and requirements.
  • Prepare daily quality control reports, inspection records, test reports, and other correspondence.
  • Maintain current quality records in required systems and ensure audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with PM and Superintendent on planning, sequencing, and corrective actions.
  • Support commissioning, turnover, and final project closeout.
  • Provide quality leadership in the field and coach team on preventing defects.
