Job summary

BB&E seeks a Construction Engineering Technician to support NAVFAC projects at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME. The role involves coordinating the construction quality management program, reviewing QC plans, and witnessing tests to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.

The position requires US citizenship, a high school diploma, and 5 years as a QC Manager or 10 years as a foreman in relevant trades; candidates must obtain a USACE CQM certification within 60 days

Qualifications

• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC.
• Construction CQM Certification within 60 days of start date (USACE).
• Familiar with crane safety requirements and NAVFAC P-307.
• 5 years as QC Manager or 10 years foreman in trades (Concrete/Mechanical/Electrical/Masonry/Carpentry).
• Education: High School diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction quality management across assigned projects.
• Review contractor QC plan and attend select QC meetings.
• Witness tests and review test reports for critical systems.
• Lead safety stand-downs and enforce safety and health requirements.
• Coordinate closeout with NAVFAC CM and ensure proper documentation for payments.
