Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking an outstanding Project Engineer to join our Federal business unit. The role spans planning, buyout, management, and closeout, supporting the project team to monitor status and address issues affecting schedule or budget.

You will post construction documents, review RFIs, track changes, and assist with schedule control and closeout. Collaboration with owners, architects, and the project team is essential, and NAVFAC/USACE experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years of project engineering experience required.
• Federal contracts experience preferred (NAVFAC/USACE a plus).
• Strong communication and organization skills; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain and post construction documents and drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals for accuracy against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, compliance audits and non-conformance log.
• Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain and distribute project logs (buyouts, subs, submittals, RFIs).
• Understand scopes of work for subcontracts/purchase orders.
• Track change requests; draft change orders within authority.
• Support project schedule management.
• Attend project meetings; record and distribute minutes.
• Obtain closeout information; gather punch list items; assist with as-built drawings and warranty process.
