Job summary

The Weitz Company is hiring a Project Engineer in West Palm Beach, FL to support preconstruction, planning, buyout, management, and closeout. You will monitor project status, collaborate with the team, and help ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Ideal candidates have an industry-related degree and construction intern or project engineering experience. Proficiency with MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and BIM is a plus, with GC background viewed favorably.

Qualifications

Industry-related degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous construction internship or project engineering experience is highly desired.
General contractor background is a plus.

Responsibilities

Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings.
Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy against plans and specs.
Assist in preparing inspections, compliance audits, and the non-conformance log.
Monitor material and equipment delivery status.
Maintain and distribute accurate project logs.
Understand scope of work for subcontracts and purchase orders.
Track subcontractor requests for change and draft change orders.
Understand and assist with project schedule management.
Obtain closeout information, gather punch list items, and assist with warranty process.
