Job summary

Horizon3.ai is seeking a Federal Platform Engineer to lead deployment and operation of our production infrastructure across federal environments, from FedRAMP to Classified workloads. You will optimize platform reliability in AWS, enable scalable experimentation, and empower developers with automated tooling and secure CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires cloud-native expertise, Terraform/Crossplane, and Kubernetes, with a focus on automation, documentation, and secure, compliant operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Platform engineering or related roles.
• Ability to manage concurrent initiatives and prioritize effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; excellent documentation.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms and automation tooling.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate product infrastructure across federal environments (FedRAMP through Classified).
• Build, maintain, and improve scalable, secure platform running in AWS.
• Design tooling for telemetry and developer productivity (CI/CD, IaC).
• Create and maintain documentation culture (Confluence, docs-as-code).
• Lead Terraform modules and Crossplane compositions for engineering teams.
• Advance automation and infrastructure-as-code practices; evaluate new tech.
