Navy Exchange at Naval Base San Diego is seeking an Asset Protection/Safety Investigator for the Home Store on a part-time schedule (20-34.5 hours). The role protects assets through investigative strategies and auditing controls to minimize loss and ensure compliance with LPS policies.

Responsibilities include monitoring facilities with CCTV, detaining suspected shoplifters, preparing case reports, conducting audits, and testifying when required.

Qualifications

• 1-year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales.
• 1 year experience in general law enforcement methods or investigative work involving property protection.
• 2 years' experience substituted by 1 year of higher education in policy administration police law or criminology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains surveillance throughout Navy Exchange facilities to identify and detect suspicious activity and losses using CCTV.
• Detains individuals suspected of shoplifting following LPS policies and investigates fraud, waste and abuse as directed.
• Prepares case reports and investigative notes; processes evidence per LPS standards.
• Conducts audits of cash registers, cash offices, inventory controls, and service operations.
• Performs investigative research on cash variances and suspicious transactions using ASPECT and POS systems.
• Conducts accident investigations and obtains photographic evidence as necessary.
• Maintains confidentiality of all investigative information and ensures facility security per procedures.
• Assists in training and awareness initiatives; may require Secret clearance within 6 months.
