Job summary

Nebius is seeking a Federal Affairs Leader to establish its federal footprint from Washington, D.C. and build a ground-up program. This remote role with periodic travel centers on AI policy, regulation, energy, infrastructure, and national security issues, with day-one internal and external impact.

The role offers a chance to shape policy, build relationships with key offices, and scale Nebius’s federal affairs capability as the U.S. operation grows.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of federal government affairs, Hill, or executive branch experience, with a track record of building relationships across party lines.
• Hands-on experience with technology, energy, trade, or national security policy — familiarity with AI policy is a plus but not required.
• Experience working in or alongside a fast-moving company or startup environment; comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Proven ability to manage outside counsel, trade associations, and coalition partners.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead federal engagement by developing and executing Nebius’s federal policy strategy across AI regulation, trade, energy, and infrastructure policy.
• Shape policy outcomes by engaging in legislative and regulatory processes, tracking developments, and coordinating with internal teams to align messaging.
• Build the function by hiring and developing staff, managing relationships with outside firms, and reporting on progress to senior leadership.
