Job summary

The MIL Corporation seeks an Accountant (Accounting, Analyst) to support a Federal Government client at our Charleston, South Carolina location. The successful candidate will manage payroll, accounting, accounts receivable, disbursing, cash reconciliation, data warehouse, imaging, and Treasury reporting systems for domestic and overseas operations.

This role currently requires an on-site schedule, with potential adjustments based on contract needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional work experience
• 2+ years of accounting, auditing, financial analysis, process improvement, root cause analysis, requirements gathering, internal control development, and change management.
• Experience managing financial systems independently.
• MS Excel entry level knowledge and experience (i.e. sort, create and maintain simple formulas)

Responsibilities

• Assist in prioritization and management of changes to accounting systems and processes.
• Perform detailed reconciliations of systems outputs.
• Respond to customer inquiries promptly, following up within two workdays; advise on US Government and DoS regulations.
• Report system and business process issues to appropriate personnel.
• Support system improvement initiatives and QMS updates to ISO-9001 requirements.
• Participate in workgroups and assist in financial procedures and systems implementation.
• Prepare and update training materials; conduct training with peers, customers, and stakeholders.
• Communicate professionally to customers, coworkers, and management about all job aspects.
