Job Summary

Our client in Novi, MI is looking for a Feature Owner (FO) – Energy Management Systems Engineer. This is a contract position.

Role Objectives

Champion energy management systems using 1st principles design methodology and extensive problem-solving in an environment with confidential Electric Vehicle information. Develop and maintain best practices including design standards, test procedures, and technical specifications. Own the design and performance of energy management systems, leading the development of strategies to extend EV range and optimize efficiency.

Key Focus Areas

• Energy flow modeling and strategy development
• Predictive energy usage algorithms (based on route, terrain, etc.)
• Load shedding and prioritization
• Integration with charging systems and powertrain
• Drive mode energy logic

Required Background Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering with 5+ years of post-graduation experience
• 3+ years in Electrical Vehicle Engineering
• 3+ years in Electric Vehicle Energy Systems, specifically in Energy Management
• Supporting feature development and delivery into production for 5+ years
• Experience with system functions, milestones, and stakeholder collaboration over 5+ years
• Experience with functional and non-functional requirements, validation, and sign-offs over 5+ years
• 6+ years in SW controls, EE, Electronics, Hardware, including development, testing, and validation
• Development of component and system design, specifications, and testing methods over 6+ years
• Analytical development using model-based design, MBSE/MBD, MIL/SIL/HIL for 5+ years
• Leading or supporting sprint planning and daily standups for 5+ years
