Job Description:

This role provides leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, aligning technical solutions with business objectives, and ensuring coding practices and quality comply with standards. The role involves conducting multiple software implementations and applying extensive knowledge of several technical competencies.

Global Markets Technology (a division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch) seeks a Feature Lead to manage a team of 7-9 developers responsible for building and maintaining a Transaction Reporting Regulatory Application across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes for OTC Derivatives and FX products. Experience with regulatory transaction reporting for CFTC, EMIR, or MiFID II is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide a feature team, ensuring adherence to procedures and routines
  • Drive large-scale projects and deliverables across tech and business teams
  • Collaborate to analyze technical requirements and translate them into code
  • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and high-performance applications
  • Produce design documents and class diagrams
  • Coach the team on writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Review and approve team members' code
  • Maintain existing code and applications to support operations
  • Perform testing with peers and end users to ensure successful project launches
  • Provide L3 production support, including off-hours support when needed
  • Promote quality engineering and good coding practices across the company

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of software development experience on large, complex systems
  • 5+ years of Python OOP experience in platforms like Quartz, SecDB, or Athena
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience
  • Experience with test-driven development (unit, functional, etc.) and test automation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Agile development and SDLC
  • Strong problem-solving, judgment, initiative, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Transaction Reporting regulations such as CFTC/Dodd-Frank, ESMA/EMIR, MIFID
  • Knowledge of OTC derivatives and other financial products
  • Experience with distributed messaging systems
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux
  • Experience building and using RESTful APIs
  • Familiarity with Front and Middle Office functions and controls

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Transparency Details:

Location: IL - Chicago, 540 W Madison St; NJ - Jersey City, 525 Washington Blvd

Pay range: $103,900.00 - $168,500.00 annually, based on experience, education, and skills.
