Job Description:

This role provides leadership, technical direction, and oversight to a team delivering technology solutions. Key responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex computer programs, aligning technical solutions with business objectives, and ensuring coding practices and quality standards are met. The role involves conducting multiple software implementations and applying extensive knowledge across several technical competencies.

Global Markets Technology, a division of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, seeks a Feature Lead to manage a team of 7-9 developers responsible for building and maintaining a Transaction Reporting Regulatory Application across multiple jurisdictions and asset classes for OTC Derivatives and FX products. Experience with regulatory transaction reporting such as CFTC, EMIR, or MiFID II is advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide a feature team, ensuring adherence to procedures and routines
  • Drive large-scale projects and deliverables across technical and business teams
  • Collaborate on analyzing technical requirements and translating them into code
  • Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and high-performance applications
  • Create documentation including design documents and class diagrams
  • Coach team members on writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
  • Review and approve team code contributions
  • Maintain existing codebases and applications to support ongoing operations
  • Perform testing with peers and end-users to ensure successful project launches
  • Provide L3 production support, including off-hours support when necessary
  • Promote quality engineering and best coding practices across the organization

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of software development experience with large, complex systems
  • 5+ years of Python OOP experience in environments like Quartz, SecDB, or Athena
  • 5+ years of team leadership experience
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (unit, functional testing) and test automation
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Agile development and a solid understanding of SDLC
  • Strong problem-solving, initiative, judgment, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Transaction Reporting regulations such as CFTC/Dodd-Frank, ESMA/EMIR, MIFID
  • Knowledge of OTC derivatives and other financial products
  • Experience with distributed messaging systems
  • Proficiency with Unix/Linux
  • Knowledge of RESTful API development and usage
  • Familiarity with Front and Middle Office functions and controls

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Transparency:

Location-specific details and salary range from $103,900 to $168,500 annually, with discretionary incentives based on performance.
