Job summary

Southeastern Surveying and Mapping Corp. in Orlando, FL seeks an FDOT Assistant Project Surveyor to support design surveys, boundary work, and mapping tasks for FDOT projects.

You will assist field crews, draft maps, and review survey data under the direction of the Project Director. The role requires a Florida PSM or Surveyor-in-Training, a Geomatics/Surveying degree (or engineering degree) and at least five years of FDOT project experience, with MicroStation proficiency and strong client

Qualifications

• Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) credentials or a Surveyor in Training who will obtain certification within one year.
• 2-year degree in Geomatics/Surveying or 4-year degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of managing/surveying FDOT projects.
• Proficiency with MicroStation and ability to learn other specialist software.

Responsibilities

• Aid the Surveying Project Director in completing design surveys, R/W maps, and legal descriptions per FDOT scope.
• Prepare FDOT reports that support field surveys.
• Supervise Survey Technicians in preparing surveys and maps.
