Job summary

KMRG, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Operations Technician to provide onsite laboratory support for the FDA's Seattle Human and Animal Food Laboratory in Bothell, WA. You will prepare media and solutions, sterilize materials, assist with sample preparation, wash glassware, handle laboratory waste, and maintain required records.

Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-conscious, and able to follow written procedures in a structured lab environment; you will perform routine safety checks and document

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of laboratory or similar experience.
• Ability to follow written procedures and safety protocols.
• Basic familiarity with cleaning, sanitizing, or handling laboratory glassware.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Media, Solution & Reagent Preparation: weigh, measure, mix, and prepare media, solutions, reagents and standards; adjust pH; label materials; follow SOPs; handle chemical additives; prepare materials for sterilization.
• Sterilization Support: load/autoclaves, sterilize media and waste, maintain records of sterilization and equipment use.
• Sample Preparation: assist with aseptic/non-aseptic preparation, handle samples, and prepare containers for analysis.
• Glassware Washing & Laboratory Equipment Support: wash glassware, inspect cleanliness, and maintain storage areas.
• Waste Collection & Disposal: collect contaminated materials, transport to disposal areas, follow waste procedures and PPE usage.
• Laboratory Custodial & Safety Support: maintain clean work areas, replenish cleaning supplies, follow contamination-control procedures, participate in safety training.
