Job summary

Jobot seeks a dynamic Consumer Finance Attorney with a strong background in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to join our fast-paced national litigation and bankruptcy practice in Texas. The successful candidate will advise clients on creditor rights, mortgage, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and related consumer matters, providing counsel and strategy in complex cases.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required from an accredited law school.
• Experience in FCRA focus; 1–10 years preferred.
• Knowledge of creditor rights, mortgage, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and consumer law.
• Admission to the state bar.
• Strong research and analytical skills; excellent written/spoken communication.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel clients on various aspects of consumer finance law, including FCRA, FDCPA, TILA, RESPA, and state consumer protection statutes.
• Handle matters related to creditor rights, mortgage, bankruptcy, foreclosure, and consumer law.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to provide strategic advice to clients.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its clients.
• Develop strategies to manage risk and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective and efficient legal support.
• Provide training to clients and colleagues on consumer finance law and related topics.
