Job summary

Patient First in New York seeks a Laboratory Associate to perform waived testing, venipuncture, and related specimen handling with speed and accuracy. You will support nurses and physicians, maintain records, and ensure safety and quality control in a fast-paced center environment.

Candidates should be able to multitask, stand for long periods, and lift up to 50 pounds as required. Excellent patient service and teamwork are essential to success at our centers.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of laboratory principles, concepts, and methodologies sufficient to perform waived testing.
• Ability to produce rapid, reliable laboratory results during periods of high volume (100+ patients per day).
• Proficiency in performing venipuncture, finger stick collections, and drug screens.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality and rapid lab results. Follow specimen collection, handling, and processing, as well as testing reporting and record maintenance.
• Adhere to quality control policies and document all quality control activities under supervision.
• Notify Nurse/Physician when patient is ready for exam and communicate lab/x-ray needs.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient treatment and care.
• Foster teamwork and provide friendly service in all interactions.
