Potbelly Sandwich Shop in Glenview, IL is hiring friendly associates to deliver fast, friendly service in a busy kitchen and dining area. No prior experience required, on-the-job training provided.

Pay transparency shows $15.25 to $15.75 per hour plus digital tips, with a benefits package and opportunities for growth. You’ll help with food prep, cashier duties, and ensuring a clean, inviting environment for guests.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment (knife skills are a big plus).
• Ability to manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player and able to stand/walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.).
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
