Job summary

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly, outgoing individuals to join a fast-paced team in Evanston, IL. Associates provide fast, friendly service and maintain a clean, inviting environment while delivering quality sandwiches and experiences.

Must be at least 16 years old, with strong communication skills and a team-player mindset. Training includes food safety in IL; expect long hours on the shop floor and opportunities for growth within a national brand.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in bustling kitchen environment; knife skills a plus.
• Ability to manage allergens: peanuts, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations (load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, front) as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream, etc.) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register: handle, balance and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints/issues.
• Takes delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned
