Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking farm workers to perform duties under SOC 45-2092 as farm workers and laborers. Duties include inspection, grading, sorting, storage, post-harvest handling, and winterizing facilities. You will remove snow and ice, maintain inventory, and assist with repairs of fences and equipment.

Applicants must speak English and be able to lift up to 50 lbs; a random drug test may follow hiring. Housing and meals are provided by the employer; weekly transportation to stores is available.

Job description

Workers will be performing job duties related to SOC code 45-2092-Farm workers and Laborers. This job will include manual labor working in extreme temperatures including cold and moisture such as snow, ice, and rain. Job duties will include but not be limited to: Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Winterize facilities, tools and equipment to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Remove snow and Ice as needed. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Repair and maintain farm fences, gates, posts, livestock areas. Organize and inventory agricultural equipment parts, tools, supplies, and maintenance materials. Assist with receiving and properly storing agricultural supplies and equipment parts. organize tools, equipment parts, lubricants, supplies, and other agricultural maintenance materials. Clean and organize tools, equipment parts, lubricants, supplies, and other agricultural maintenance materials. Incidental welding, cutting, grinding, drilling, fabrication, and other equipment repair and maintenance activities when properly trained and supervised. Transport agricultural equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and materials between farm locations. Clear fence lines of trees and brush clearing to remove dormant trees, brush, and noxious weeds. Remove brush, leaves, debris, and other materials from farm property. This could be by hand or mechanical means. Tools and equipment used to perform these duties may include but are not limited to: Pickups, side-by-sides, ATVs, skid steers chainsaws, forklift, pallet forks, handcarts, shovels, picks, axes, loppers, shears, knives, wrenches, crow bars, air tools, hammers, pliers, electric tools. Must speak and understand English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 2 months

Two (2) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
