Job summary

H2ajobs is seeking farm labor staff in Kansas to handle active cattle care tasks including weaning, vaccination, feeding, calving preparation, and fencing maintenance. English-speaking applicants are required to communicate with team members and supervisors.

The role includes housing and meals provided by the employer, with transportation to stores as needed. workers may be subject to drug testing and must comply with a strict workplace policy.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the listed job duties.
• Must be able to obtain a valid driver's license after hire and maintain a clean driving record.
• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical cattle handling.

Responsibilities

• Weaning, vaccination programs, feeding cows and calves, repairing fences and waterers as needed.
• Managing feeding areas for cows, bulls, and yearlings and sorting by weight.
• Calving preparation, vaccination, tagging, and moving calf-cow pairs to pasture.

Weaning, vaccination programs, feeding cows, getting calves started on feed, repairing fences and waterers as needed; feeding cows, bulls, and yearlings in separate places; feeding all cows, bulls, and yearlings, sorting yearlings by weight, general cattle maintenance; selling heavy steers, sorting and weighing cattle for selling, feeding cattle as needed; prepare for calving, calving-checking cows for calves, tagging and vaccinating calves; moving calf cow pairs to pasture; Must speak English.

Housing: Employer-provided (including mobile or range)

Meals: Employer will furnish free and convenient cooking and kitchen facilities, all of which are in working order, including refrigeration, space for food preparation, cooking accessories and utensils, appliances, and dishwashing facilities so that workers may prepare their own meals. Kitchen facilities include adequate sinks with hot and cold water under pressure. Employer will provide transportation once a week to assure workers access to stores where they can purchase groceries, when the employer is providing cooking and kitchen facilities.

Experience wanted: 3 months

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
