Job summary

The City of Holland, MI is seeking a Market Manager to oversee the Holland Farmers Market, coordinating vendor activities, customer service, and compliance during market hours. This role also handles office work, records for food assistance programs, inspections under the 100% Homegrown program, and collaboration with programming and marketing staff to ensure successful events.

The Market Manager supervises the Assistant Market Manager and Market Ambassador, and must be able to lift up to 50

Qualifications

At least one year working in a related field.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent customer service, communication, and accounting skills.
Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site management at market hours and office work during non-market hours.
Assign vendor stalls and collect payments; ensure vendor compliance with rules and regulations.
Maintain professional communication with customers, current vendors, and potential vendors; inform them of policies.
Implement the Market’s food assistance programs and maintain required records and reports.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including food safety.
Recruit and retain vendors to maintain full stall capacity; manage waiting list.
Assist programming and marketing staff to support events and programs.
Conduct in-person farm inspections as part of the 100% Homegrown program.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervise Assistant Market Manager and Market Ambassador.
