Job summary

City of Suffolk is seeking a part-time Farmers’ Market Facilitator to support weekly operations, vendor relations, and administrative duties for the Suffolk Farmers’ Market and related events. Work up to 29 hours weekly, with on-site market-day duties and weekday coordination.

The role requires excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills, along with the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year experience in hospitality, travel/tourism, marketing, customer service, office administration or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Market Day Operations: attend Saturdays 7am-3pm for setup, market hours, teardown and events.
• Weekday operations: vendor communication, marketing, admin tasks, planning and outreach.
• Coordinate vendors, review applications, collect fees, and maintain vendor database.
• Book live entertainment, exhibits, food trucks, and family activities.
• Assist with social media, vendor lists, and community outreach.
• Prepare reports and records of vendor sales and market activities.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to visitors and vendors.
