Farmers Market Associate Job Description
Primary Job Function: The Farmers Market Associate (FM Associate) role is a customer service position. FM Associates typically meet an Agriberry Farm Market Lead at a farmers market or pop-up. FM Associates support in set-up and breakdown, sales and distribution of Agriberry products, and record keeping for farmers markets and/or CSA sites that require multiple staff, providing a quality experience to coworkers and customers.
- Market set up and tear down: Site set-up, maintenance, and breakdown with guidance from the Market Lead. This includes setting up tables, canopies, stocking, writing and/or positioning accurate signs and banners, and making the market site ready with appealing displays that facilitate efficient sales flow.
- Sell Agriberry Farm products: Provides premium sales service to all customers while on site at any Farmers Market or pop-up. This includes product knowledge, actively engaged presence, and personable interactions.
- Distribute Agriberry Farm CSA shares: Accurately assembles and distributes CSA shares [May-October, weekday only], conveys familiarity and gratitude to CSA members.
- Participate in Agriberry Farm training: Attends meetings and trainings to maintain knowledge of weekly share contents, produce sources, seasonal availability, growing methods, and fruit quality standards. Responds to weekly messages about market and process updates.
- Performs other duties as delegated by the CSA & Market Manager or Market Leads.

- Successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening
Physical Requirements
- Present professionally and positively in a sales representative position
- Bend, kneel, slide, shuffle, push, and pull 30-50 lbs safely and independently
- Work in extreme temperatures and/or weather safely while maintaining a good attitude
- Stand and maintain attention for shift entirety
Preferred Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
- Experience in food service, agriculture, sales, marketing, or human services is a plus but not required.
- Available to work at early hours on the weekend and evening hours during the week
- Accurate and quick basic mental math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, discount calculation)
