Job summary

Ratto Bros, Inc is seeking a day shift farm tractor driver in Modesto, CA to operate tractors for land preparation and irrigation tasks. You will handle soil preparation, planting, fertilizer application, spraying, and harvesting support as needed.

You must maintain equipment, complete inspection forms, follow GMP/SOP standards, and communicate with the tractor Supervisor to schedule ground work. Willingness to work full agricultural schedule and bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of recent tractor driving experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate John Deere tractor to perform land prep duties, disc, chisel, plowing, bed shaping, spraying, and land leveling.
• Lubricate and repair tractor and attachments as needed.
• Learn location of all ranches and identify differences between vegetables.
• Communicate with tractor Supervisor to schedule ground work.

Job Details: Job Location: Modesto, CA 95358 Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly Job Shift: Day

Ratto Bros, Inc is seeking day shift farm tractor driver. The main responsibilities are operating a tractor for land preparation, planting, cultivating, fertilizing, day time pesticide applications, sprinkler irrigation, furrow irrigation, and drip irrigation. You must wash tractors and equipment, and fill out inspection forms. Also, depending on weather conditions and work load, they may be required to assist in harvest activities, thinning, weeding, service of equipment, or clean-up.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Operate John Deere tractor to perform various land prep duties, disc, chisel, plowing, bed shaping, spraying, land level using laser leveling equipment to level large fields.
• May lubricate and repair tractor and attachments.
• Learn location of all ranches.
• Learn to identify the differences between the different vegetables.
• Learn Ranch Field Valve and row counting systems.
• Communicates and sets schedules with tractor Supervisor to get ground worked in a timely manner.
• Makes sure Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMP’s) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are followed at all times.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1 – 3 years of recent tractor driver experience.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work full agricultural schedule.
• Knowledge in pesticides preferred.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide all units of measure using whole numbers, percentages, and fractions.
• Ability to understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
