Job summary

Ratto Bros., Inc. in Modesto, CA is seeking an experienced diesel/equipment technician for full-time, day-shift work. The role involves diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and farm implements, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting work performed.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in diesel or agricultural equipment, a proactive, detail-oriented approach, and a valid Class C license. Bilingual Spanish is preferred but not required; Joh Deere familiarity is an advantage.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience with diesel equipment and/or agricultural equipment.
• Proactive attitude and strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of shop equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented.
• Class C driver’s license.
• Familiarity with John Deere equipment is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Correctly diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic or pneumatic problems and expedite its repair with minimal help.
• Repair farm equipment disc, chisel, harrows and other farm implements.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair, all types of diesel engines.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on various ag equipment.
• Set up equipment as required.
• Proper documentation of work performed.
• Performs basic electrical repairs.
• Maintain shop equipment in good working order, grinders, drill press, welding machines and other shop related equipment.
• Performs 90 day inspection.
• Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
• Must work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes conflicting deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned.
