Farm & Property Operations Manager – Central Valley, CA
Nelson Connects is partnering with a growing agricultural organization to identify a Farm & Property Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of several agricultural properties in the Central Valley.
This is a hands-on property and operations role within an agricultural environment, not a traditional crop-production or senior farm leadership position. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being out in the field, building relationships, solving problems, managing vendors and projects, and making sure things get done.
The ideal candidate will have some agricultural or farming background and be comfortable working closely with farm managers, tenants, vendors, contractors, and property partners.
We’re looking for someone who is practical, curious, dependable, personable, and willing to learn.
You may be a great fit if you have experience in:
Agricultural experience is important, but you do not need to be an expert farmer. You should understand the agricultural environment and be comfortable learning from experienced farm managers while bringing strong operational, organizational, and relationship-building skills of your own.
This could be a great fit for someone who grew up around agriculture, worked on a farm, participated in an agricultural program, has an irrigation background, or has otherwise spent meaningful time in the farming community.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to learn, build relationships, take ownership, and become a trusted person on the ground.
This is a role for someone who wants to be in the middle of the operation, not sitting behind a desk. You’ll have the opportunity to walk the properties, work with experienced agricultural professionals, manage projects, solve problems, and make a real impact on the day-to-day success of the operation.
Agriculture doesn’t always operate on a perfect 9–5 schedule, so the right person needs to be comfortable being accessible when something important comes up — including the occasional early-morning or after-hours irrigation or property issue.
