Job description

LAND'S SAKE FARM

WESTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Land’s Sake Farm in Weston, MA is looking for crew members to join our team for the 2026 season!

Land’s Sake is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building meaningful connections between people, the food they eat, and the land. We run a ~20 acre diversified vegetable operation, 300 member CSA, farmstand, and robust food donation program. We also host an array of educational programs and have a long-standing forestry management operation. Field Crew members work closely with the LS team to run a complex community farm. We also occasionally work with volunteers, workshares, and children in education programs. We strive to make Land’s Sake a welcoming, community-centered farm for all involved, including customers, shareholders, children, volunteers, and staff.

Full-time positions: Starting immediately through October: 45-50 hours/week (5 days). The schedule will be fixed and pre-determined before the start of this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Field work (harvesting, trellising, planting, and weeding)
  • General farm maintenance and upkeep, including fencing setup and irrigation
  • Greenhouse tasks (seeding, watering, and potting up)
  • High tunnel growing

Applicants should have a genuine interest in learning about sustainable agriculture. Field crew members are expected to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. The adaptability to work both independently and with a team are equally important. Field crew can expect to work long hours in all weather conditions. Many of the tasks we perform on a regular basis are repetitive and physically demanding. Applicants with a strong work ethic and positive attitude will succeed in this role.

The work day starts at 7:00 am sharp and goes through 5:00 pm with a paid hour break for lunch. There may be occasional (optional) exceptions to end times when we need to complete work before a weather event, and there may be times when we cancel work due to hazardous conditions.

Compensation:

  • Starting at $18.00/hr
  • Free produce from farm, and discounts on farmstand goods

Qualifications:

A sincere interest in sustainable vegetable production and a positive attitude are a must. Being flexible, open-minded, and engaged are equally as important. While previous farm experience is always welcome, it is not required. The physical nature of our work necessitates that all employees are able to lift 50lbs repeatedly and work for long periods of time doing repetitive tasks. Applicants should have a reliable form of transportation and ability to arrive at work on time. Preference will be given to applicants who can work the full term of the position.

Positions open until filled. Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you might have!
