Job summary

Maple View Farm in New York is seeking a full-time farm crew member to support field preparation, planting, transplanting, harvesting, washing/packing, and documentation of production records. Responsibilities include weekend market staffing and wholesale/CSA pack-out.

We value a strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly, teamwork, and comfort with physical farming tasks. Housing is not provided; transportation required; a smoke-free environment.

Overview

Maple View Farm is a high-production no-till market garden that produces vegetables, herbs, flowers, and micro-greens year-round using regenerative, sustainable, and organic practices. The 1-acre garden is maintained by a crew of 2-3 members who learn all aspects of small-scale farm production through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Field preparation: apply composts, soil amendments, broad-fork, raking, and weeding.
• Vegetable production tasks: seeding, transplanting, watering, harvesting, washing/packing, pruning/trellising, and recording production records.
• Assume responsibility for one or more production-related tasks.
• Staff the weekend farmers-market twice a month.
• Assist with pack-out for wholesale, CSA, and markets.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of full-time farming or related experience (landscaping, culinary).

Compensation & Expectations

• Wage: $15-$20/hr depending on experience.
• Full-time employees receive one week paid vacation/sick leave per calendar year.
• Full-time employees eligible for end-of-year performance bonus.
• Full-time employees receive a $250 reimbursable clothing stipend per year.
• Full-time staff commit to a full season (April-November). Part-time staff offer flexibility within 16-24 hrs/week.
• Housing not provided; personal transportation required.
• The farm is a smoke-free and drug-free environment.

Hours & Location

• Full-time: 40-45 hrs/week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with 1-2 Saturdays/month for market and nursery watering.
• Part-time: 16-24 hrs/week with flexible work days, also 1-2 Saturdays/month.
