Job summary

The Chef’s Garden in Huron, OH is seeking a full-time Mechanic/Farm Maintenance Mechanic to maintain vehicles and farm equipment across multiple locations. The role focuses on preventive and emergency repairs, ensuring safe operation and minimal downtime.

You will use the work order system, document maintenance, and coordinate with Maintenance and Field Operations Managers. The job requires physical stamina and readiness to lift up to 75 pounds and work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand/walk and operate tools for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
• Experience maintaining vehicles and equipment on a farm or similar operation.
• Follow safety procedures and report issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the condition of vehicles and equipment; coordinate with managers for extended repairs.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
• Perform daily inspections and assist troubleshooting.
• Use the work order system to track service schedules and inspections.
• Record labor time and complete related data entry.
• Update maintenance procedures and safety standards as needed.
• Handle emergency repair requests; work across multiple farm locations.
• Keep tools and work areas organized and safe.
