R.D. Offutt Farms is seeking a maintenance technician to perform repairs and inspections on farm equipment, ensuring safety, professionalism, and timely completion of tasks.

The role requires hands-on mechanical work, basic tools, and a customer-service mindset as you support farming operations across facilities. Responsibilities include diagnosing defects, performing preventive maintenance, safely operating vehicles, and maintaining reports and knowledge of equipment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years mechanical experience preferred.
• Basic tools to perform duties.
• Customer service skills.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect mechanical equipment to diagnose defects.
• Perform preventive or general maintenance on equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose equipment.
• Safely operate vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
• Maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within the company’s area of responsibility.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook.
• Conduct oneself in the presence of customers and the community so as to present a professional image of RD Offutt Farms.
• Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
• Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open‑book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
• At times may operate various farm equipment and other heavy equipment (specifically a front‑end loader).
• Mandatory participation in the company’s random drug/alcohol testing pool.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
