Job summary

The Simplot Company is seeking a Farm Equipment & Irrigation Operator in Silver Lake, OR, to support alfalfa and hay farming operations. You will work outdoors with irrigation systems, operate farm machinery, and contribute to crop production year-round.

You'll troubleshoot irrigation equipment, assist with water management projects, maintain property and structures, and collaborate with the farm team on seasonal tasks. A valid driver's license is required and housing and utilities are provided.

What You'll Do

As a Farm Equipment & Irrigation Operator,you'llhelp support crop production and farm operations by:

• Operating and monitoring flood and pivot irrigation systems to ensure crops receive the water they need to thrive.
• Troubleshooting and repairing pivot irrigation equipment to maintain efficient operations.
• Supporting irrigation activities, including digging corrugates, transporting equipment, and assisting with water management projects.
• Operating a variety of farm equipment and machinery for tasks such as tillage, planting, spraying, cultivating, and other field operations.
• Preparing fields and supporting crop establishment according to seasonal production schedules.
• Maintaining farm property and infrastructure, including fence construction and repair, weed control, and upkeep of farm buildings and structures.
• Assisting with seasonal maintenance and repair projects to keep equipment and facilities operating safely and efficiently year-round.
• Working closely with the farm team on a variety of projects that contribute to the success of the operation.

Physical Requirements

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Bending, kneeling, crouching, and working on uneven ground.
