Job summary

Springboard Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Family Violence Project case manager to provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and service coordination for victims of crime and family violence.

Under supervision of the Director of Client Services, you will assist clients with resources, entitlements, and information about the criminal justice process, including personal and legal advocacy. This is a regional role with regular travel across central Maryland to program locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field is required.
• Minimum of one year of crisis services experience with families.
• Ability to transport to other locations; valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Client Services, the Family Violence Project case manager will provide crisis intervention services that emphasize safety planning, short-term and long-term service coordination, and follow-up to victims of crime and family violence. This position will offer support in connecting clients to vital resources, entitlements and benefits, as well as information about the criminal justice process, victim rights and other victim service programs. The case manager will provide personal advocacy and legal advocacy, as well as court and medical accompaniment, as necessary. The goal will be to manage the immediate crisis and also lay the groundwork for a more in-depth involvement with the Family Violence Project. This position is a regional position and is expected to travel regularly through central Maryland to other program locations.

Requirements

Applicant must have Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field. A minimum of one year experience providing crisis services to families and knowledge of and ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds. Applicant must be able to transport him/herself to other locations and will require a current driver's license, safe driving record, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
