Job summary

The Mesa County Family Time Program is a County designed Core Service Program. The Family Time Specialist will assess each parent and child relationship and create a family time plan for ongoing contact, supervising visits as needed to maintain a safe environment for children and families.

Responsibilities include initiating contact within 72 hours of removal, scheduling and supervising visits, coaching parents to improve parenting skills, observing interactions, and reporting to the Social

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years old
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Undergo a background check
• Within 1 year of graduating with a bachelor degree in a Human Services or related field

Responsibilities

• Initiate the first contact between the child and parents within 72 hours of the child’s removal
• Schedule and supervise ongoing family visits
• Intervene during family time to provide coaching or feedback to parents
• Observe and document interactions and submit a report to the assigned Social Caseworker
• Terminate family time if child safety is compromised
