Do you have the skills to be a Family Support Worker and are seeking a part-time opportunity in Dumfries and Galloway? If so, then we have a great opportunity for you!

Your new opportunity

Join us as a Family Support Worker for Quarriers Family Support Service located in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway. As a key member of the team, you will provide intensive family support to children and their families in the Dumfries area, working to keep families together and supporting them with the wider social inequalities impacting their lives.

The team works and aligns all activities in line with 'The Promise', ensuring that families and children’s voices are heard and taken seriously while tailoring support to meet their individual needs.

This is a permanent opportunity offering up to 16 hours per week. Shifts and working patterns will vary depending on service delivery needs.

What you will need to bring to the role

• Understanding of drug and alcohol issues, child development, and family dynamics.
• Knowledge and/or experience of child and/or adult protection.
• A supportive and enabling approach to all family members and staff.
• Able to prioritize tasks and organize a diverse workload.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent IT skills, confidence, and knowledge.
• Experience of effective inter-agency collaboration.
• Ability to work irregular hours when required, including evenings and weekends.
• A driving license is essential, along with access to your own transport.
• A compassionate and empathetic approach when supporting families facing challenges.
