Job summary

Urban Strategies, Inc. seeks a Family Support Specialist II to provide comprehensive case management and referrals, coordinating with community and supportive services to promote economic self-sufficiency for families and improve quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities.

You will collaborate with a team to tailor Development Plans, advocate for clients, and help connect residents with HUD-funded programs. Evening/weekend availability and travel up to 25% are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or related field.
• 3+ years of case management or direct practice with low-income households.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile availability for work use.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for diverse communities.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Independent and proactive work ethics with strong team collaboration.
• Evening and weekend availability as required.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
• Ability to excel in fast-paced, culturally diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake, assessments, enroll residents in family support programs, and visit locations for information gathering.
• Collaborate with families on Development Plans and assist with accessing social services.
• Advocate for service delivery for up to 100 individuals and track data in LEARN system.
• Attend community and program-related meetings and travel up to 25% as needed.
• Provide resources and knowledge for clients to access capital and financial goals.
• Offer consultation services in financial management and goal-setting.
• Host in-person and virtual seminars for financial literacy and capital access.
• Support and promote the development of the USI CDFI client base.
